Watch the Japanese version(subtitled).
It's too bad Hollyweird has to ruin the reputation of the fantastic Japanese version of this film by changing the storyline and loading it up with bloated left wingers. I'll personally never let Susan Sarandon see a dime of my money after her horrendous anti-war commercials...remember "What have they ever done to us?"
Rent the original film, forget the new one.

Yes! The Japanese version of Shall We Dance? was fantastic. Why spoil it with an American remake starring the insufferable Susan Sarandon and Richard Gere, of all people?
