Fire can be tricky that way....
I have a special 'talent' with fire.
I've gotten R24 rated insulation to burn, and aluminum cans to burn.
I've also gotten campfires hot enough to refuse to be put out even after having 20 gallons of water dumped squarely on the spread out coals.
And had them flare back up after 4 hours.
(This was after checking the coals by sticking my hands directly on them to be sure they were cold.)
