I agree .. and FOX is not talking about the whole article, they are talking about "nuisance"; they are however, reading the whole statement .. which to me clarify's that Kerry compares terrorism to prostitution and gambling.

I hate to tell you this, but your master stepped in it real bad with that comment. That is his true picture of reality.

He's a 9/10 guy, or better yet, a 1971 guy, in a 9/11/2001 world.

We "jumped on" his comments because they are stupid, but reflect his true world view. These asinine views deserve to be shouted from the rooftops.

John Kerry is an enemy of Human Civilization.

Worse, he is an idiot. And anyone who tries to defend him directly, or through subterfuge, deserves nothing bout contempt.

Now I have seen what Bush, Cheney, Gillespie, and Roscoe have said, and they are more on the right track.

I am still waiting for Bush to say "after 9/11, I said we're not going to keep dealing with terrorists like we're swatting at flies. Senator Kerry wants to go back to the policies where terrorists were just seen as a nuisance you learn to live with. He wants to go back to swatting at flies."

That would bring Kerry's remarks into focus.
Until "swatting at flies" in invoked, they won't be.
Karl Rove, are you listening?

"Let's be careful with what we trump up as our talking points..."

Excuse me??? Trump up??? Kerry said he wants to take us back to a time when terrorism is just a nusiance again. It's an abominable quote--not taken out of context---and definitely not "trumped up". Guess what?? It wasn't just a "nuisance" before 9/11---unfortunately we just thought of it that way.

and I might add it can't ever be reduced to a mere "nusiance"....that's fantasy.

Okay --

It's clear that some of you think that any perceived gaffe by the enemy is worth running with.

Let's see who's right.

If Rove drops the nuisance thing, as I expect he will, then I'm right.

If he doesn't, and Bush loses, then again I'm right.

If he runs with it as you have, and Bush wins, then you all are right and I'll eat my words.

I'm just trying to help us win here, folks.

you are kidding....right?

Here's the question:
"what it would take for Americans to feel safe again?"

Here's the answer...parse it, spin it anyway you want....but Kerry wants to go back to the way we were.

'We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a 'nuisance,''.

''As a former law enforcement person, I know we're never going to end prostitution. We're never going to end illegal gambling. But we're going to reduce it, organized crime, to a level where it isn't on the rise. It isn't threatening people's lives every day, and fundamentally, it's something that you continue to fight, but it's not threatening the fabric of your life.''

Terrorism, by definition, and redefined by 9/11, DOES threatens our lives everyday. We now know what & where, we don't know when or how.

If "Rove runs with it"

Strikes me as a uniquely Democrat campaign view of reality.

I got news for you, bunky, we don't work for Karl Rove. You, however, obviously work for John Kerry.

Get thee behind me Satan. I have no use for your works. You have no power here. Better start looking for a new gig, bunky.

You really are politically naive. If someone Newsweak agrees with you, that really doesn't buttress your case very much. The MSM and the Kerry Kamp is in damage control mode over this quote.

Stop being such a girlie-man.

I think you're all underestimating the power the MSM wields against us. Troll accusations aside, I think we need to focus our strategy on appearing less ruthless and cut-throat toward our fellow Americans while maintaining our ruthless/cut-throat attitude toward foreign enemies.

My posts over the past couple days have focussed on the thesis that we are being too cavalier with our accusations directed toward the Kerry camp and not thorough enough in our efforts to debunk the myths that have been disseminated about our party.

"Girly men," mud-slinging quote-mangling, and the shameless exploitation of 9/11 play right into the lib media's characterization of us as loony rednecks. We can't let that narrative take over and spoil our shot at the presidency.

Rove knows this...I think.

Please -- let's have a debate here. I think it's okay to criticize the strategies behind our campaign. It sucks to be accused of being a dem just because I think we ought to very carefully consider our closing strategy for this election...
