Girl, 7, improves; horse kicked her
SILVER CITY, Iowa - A 7-year-old girl remained hospitalized Monday after a horse kicked her in the head over the weekend.
The girl was helping saddle the horse about 5 p.m. Sunday when it turned and tried to take off, an emergency official said. A hoof struck her head.
The girl, identified as Kaylin Selander of Silver City, was listed in good condition Monday at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She had been in critical condition after the accident.
The Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department took Kaylin to Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs before she was transferred to Omaha. - Susan Szalewski and Jeffrey Robb
