Bob Schieffer prepares for the final debate:

... Schieffer has been spending the past few weeks consulting colleagues and experts to make sure he avoids that terrible outcome. "I'm going to take at least 100 questions with me," he said. "I've been watching the other debates very carefully. I think both Jim [Lehrer] and Gwen [Ifill] did fine jobs. Jim in the beginning set the standard. The challenge is to really ask questions that are specific."

What if President Bush and Sen. John Kerry don't answer his questions? "I'm going to try to get them to answer, but it's really up to them," Schieffer said. "In all seriousness, a nonanswer is an answer, too. People understand when somebody's not answering, and they make their own judgments." source
