Why did John Kerry assume that only Bush, himself and Charlie Gibson make more than $200,000. What an elitist attitude and direct slap in the face of the audience and the people of St. Louis. Kerry is condescending in his manner of speaking and his comment completely betrayed his arrogance. I was hoping for someone from the audience to stand up and say 'I am one of those evil rich people you are so dead against and I create the jobs that you keep talking about'.
If I am elected 2 rich widows in every pot!!
ROFL
If I am elected a little pot in every rich widow!
Senator Leona Helmsley does not believe the hayseeds in flyover country could possibly make more than minimum wage.
He was probably surprised to see the audience actually wore shoes.
Why didn't any of you remember the comment about sitting around their swimming pools during the first debate. I still have a chill up my spine from that comment.
I only wished that the President would have scolded him on his bad manners for the insult.
You got my vote, pal, but first: Can you look straight into the camera and promise not to raise their age over 35?
No question bout that. . .Kerry's assumption incredibly insulting; he was also; I think; trying to impress on those people who do NOT make $200,000 that 'he - just like they - imagine that this reeally is where 'rich' is. . .and not many people get 'there'.
Not just arrogant; Kerry is a fricking, disgusting hypocrit.
I was hoping Bush would counter; but no where to go 'safely' perhaps. . .
I haven't read through this thread yet, so maybe someone else already mentioned this...
but I remember Algore making a similar statement in the last townhall debate w/Bush.
IIRC, he actually said something to the effect that he doubted that anyone else in the room made over $200,000, or something like that.
The reason it stands out to me was that it really stood out as condescending and arrogant, EXACTLY like Kerry's statement did tonight.
Or like when Edwards looked into the camera and told us that he KNEW we could see the light of America flickering out.
I must have missed that one--I must confess that I got hungry during the first debate so I missed a minute or two of it while I was in the kitchen.
Amen.....W shoulda drubbed hom over that comment.
I just saw Andrea Mitchell with a long sad face declaring W the winner.
All I need to know.
Fred, Kristol, and Mort sounded like they had been smoking strong dope.
Mother told me you can marry more money in 20 minutes than you can make in a lifetime.
Oh, good, I wasn't the only one who thought this, so surely the people in the audience were offended, too. I mean, if he was going by their clothes, one could easily assume that Tereza Heinz kerry was "middle America," too, because her suit looked like she had been sleeping in it since the last debate! Money certainly can't buy class!
The DNC and all the liberal activists groups have pushed thru e-mails and online announcements for theirs folks to vote the online polls for publicity's sake.
The Pubbies and most on this forum have decided it's best to ignore the online polls for now.
Lord knows....if FR knows as well as we do how to skew online polls then so do the Dems.
The concensus I just saw on Hardball was that W did very well....hardly a right wing organ either,
I bet Kerry seldom really thinks about money. With that it is "I got enough Teresa sees to that,"'"

Michelle Malkin mentions it in her blog.
"Lovey, you simply have no idea what the cat dragged in to the second debate. Plebians to the left of me, trash to the right of me, all so obviously earning less than 200,000 dollars a year. Oh the humanity, lovey! Oh the humanity!"
