Did anyone else believe that Edward's had no right to announce to the entire world that Cheney's daughter is gay? No matter if she is out to family and friends, I found it kind of appalling that John Edward's would use this fact about Cheney's family to announce it to the country. Memo to John: SHOVE IT.

By bringing that into the debate, Dingus Edwards just shattered the "Evil Halliburton Robot" image some undecideds may have had based on the MSM. In its place, Cheney is now a dad, with a family he cares for, and it humanized him. Horrible political instincts by Edwards.
Dick Cheney is a natural gentleman. Edwards makes shyster lawyers look bad.

Although many knew about it, I thought it was rude for Edwards to be so patronizing about it and highlight it so starkly.

V.P.Cheney should have cited the need for us all to be understanding of drunken brothers of candidates, (which seems to be a recurring theme of democrat presidential candidates)

Agreed. He is a minute worm that sucks blood from the parasites of leeches. Imagine blackmailing someone in front of an international audience. Throughout the debate I could see him addressing a jury with that same cunning smile and that feral gleam in his eye.

Excellent point worthy of repeating. My guess is that Edwards succumbed to the typical knee-jerk reaction of liberals to out people merely for purposes of adding to the *gay count*. In the context of this debate, as you observe, it only served to reveal that Cheney's humanity.

Everyone in America, with the exception of those who were in a coma, dead or visiting distant planets these past four years , knew. But Edwards sure as heck didn't bring it up tonight for any gallant and broadminded purpose, but in a vile attempt to use it as a weapon against Cheney, his family and the Bush administration. Edwards sucks!!!!!!
