Not a bad idea. And the house you're in is in good shape. I, on the other hand, live in the money pit.
Yeah, it looks purty on the outside ('cept for the mold and spider poop), but we got a lot of work (and money to spend) on the inside. It never ends.
I would trade square footage for quality construction any day (and besides, there wouldn't be room for Nana...)
Yep...this is a well-built house...I must admit. It needs some minor repair...some of the siding needs to be replaced and there's a bit of rot in one of the boards in the trim. But that's normal repair stuff that has to be done and we just can't do it right now.
I want to paint the exterior. It's such a small house that Steve and I could do it in a weekend, probably.
I'd like to replace the kitchen cabinet doors and re-vinyl and recarpet. But no sense recarpeting until the poodle is house-broken! LOL Also, the ceiling in the kitchen is a drop down ceiling...I want to take that out and put it back to just a regular ceiling. There's a vent up there that is completely functional but covered by drop down ceiling!!!
These are not horribly expensive things to do and we could do it ourselves.
