Only the posting statistics are in spreadsheet format... the archives themselves are simple text files. ;) Duly noted!

Geek's not a choice, it's something you're born with. Sounds like the preamble to a call for special rights to me ;~D

Methinks I hit a nerve. *wink*
But your consulting idea may not be a bad one! Unless, of course, they realize that Sarb-Ox is not really working.

I should post a pic of what I looked like in 5th grade. *shakes head* I had more books knocked out of my hands and was tripped and tormented more than I care to remember.

I have never played D&D, believe it or not.
I've always been curious as to what the hub-bub was all about though.

Bwahahaha!
I happen to like TMBG, what I've heard of 'em. They're weird. I didn't know "Istanbul Not Constantinople" was a cover, either.
Right... I think I've had too much vodka... laughing uncontrollably here over the Planet of the Apes bit.

Nah, we wouldn't know what to do with rights if we got 'em.
We just want respect. Just a little bit ;-)

Never played D&D here either! The RPG I played was not as popular... but was far superior, IMO, of course. ;)
In the strange coincedence department, the company that published this game, in the late 70's/early 80's, was actually based in Austin Texas... long before I ever thought I'd be living here!

I gotta knowI guess it comes from being my own personal one-man "skunk works" all my life. I've always been on the lookout for stuff that was neater, sneakier, cooler, or deadlier than anybody else had. All the while projecting an image of bland geekiness.
My talents were even recognized in Basic, when the Senior Drill Sergeant took me aside (well, actually yanked me out of formation), and informed me "Delta company f*cked us in scoring us on the rifle range. You are being loaned to them to help their mess section get ready for the IG. You will make sure their mess hall flunks."
They flunked, and I was there watching while the IG ripped the mess chief a new one. I was sorta glad I didn't put in the extra effort to get them Article 15s, too. They had problems enough after I was done "helping" them.

hehehe... well... put this in your COBIT and smoke it:
This comes from a questionairre that I had to complete. I swear to God that this really exists as a question on the sheet:
"Is there an appropriate assignment of responsibility and delegation of authority to deal with IT goals and objectives, operating function requirements and regulatory compliance requirements? "
Can SOMEBODY for the LUVAGOD please tell me what the F___ this means??

They want to know if your company has assigned someone to coordinate between IT operations and compliance with the S-OX requirements. In other words, do you have someone who knows the S-OX requirements and can tell IT, "Hey, you can't do that, it's against the S-OX requirements!" or, "You have to do things this way to comply with the S-OX requirements!"

Basically it's asking whose ass in on the line if someone does wrong.
Is there an appropriate assignment of responsibility
Is there anyone responsible
and delegation of authority
with a clear manager we can report to
to deal with IT goals and objectives,
in case someone completely screws the pooch on IT goals and quotas,
operating function requirements
doesn't keep things running smoothly
and regulatory compliance requirements? "
or tries to get away with not following our Rules.
