Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
So you know how I knew ILM did the effects before I saw the credits...and the significance of my current tagline?
Man!
There are some big deer in VA.
I have heard they get bigger as you go north, even.
Seriesly, one of my favorite parts is when the Rohirrim have put the Orcs to flight, and Theoden is reorganizing them when they begin to hear the thundering footsteps....
Quantico always has some nice deer taken...
the odd thing is you'll have a 140 class buck that field-dresses at 110 lbs... just ain't right...
Have you seen that he's remade Alfie?
G'nad, nice non-typical one thar. There's been some pretty good ones taken so far this year in MO. I got one I'll be sending you shortly (if it works that is).
Apparently The Village had no pins, scissors, knives...or any other pointy objects.
Or else the people were just clueless.
Or some of both.
Nope, sure isn't but a bit too much to be flying the flag today. Haven't missed many days this summer.
Yeah, there are some good parts in that movie.
My daughter likes "But I am no man!"
I think it's cute also.
Assuming you were talking about movie instead of book.
Does anyone know when the XT version is making its appearance?
Yeah, that would kind of suck.
I think they were just clueless: they couldn't give the Answer because they didn't understand the Question.
RotK EE will ship on Dec 14. You can preorder on Amazon and Overstock.com, probably elswhere as well.
Then out of the blackness in his mind he thought that he heard Dernhelm speaking; yet now the voice seemed strange, recalling some other voice that he had known.
Begone, foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion! Leave the dead in peace!
A cold voice answered: Come not between the Nazgûl and his prey! Or he will not slay thee in thy turn. He will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shrivelled mind be left naked to the Lidless Eye.
A sword rang as it was drawn. Do what you will; but I will hinder it, if I may.
Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!
Then Merry heard of all sounds in that hour the strangest. It seemed that Dernhelm laughed, and the clear voice was like the ring of steel. But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn I am, Éomunds daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.
The book is sooooo much better...
Yes, I think so too about the book.
Thanks for that quote.
But the movies are pretty great.
I liked where Frodo, in the movie, while with Sam in the midst of destruction and fire outside Mount Doom or whatever it's called, after having destroyed the ring, speaks with the same voice as Bilbo in very old age, I think that touches like that are pretty wonderful, and there are alot of them.
Well...hopefully I can keep some of the same momentum for NaNo - I'm up to 4000 words already. Of course...this is my one free night, so I guess it hardly counts. I'll almost HAVE to write two or three days' worth every Monday. *sigh* Hope I can make it this year!
Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to be imprisoned there...unless Denmark was full.
"Denmark? Why Denmark?"
Haven't you heard?
Denmark's a prison.
