SP2 Doesn't show up -anywhere- under Add/Remove Programs..that's pretty much the source of this whole problem ;)

In add/remove programs, did you check the "Show Updates" check box?

As I noted in a different post (I had to find a screenshot...) if you didn't choose the Archive Files option, you can't uninstall SP2 (including previews)...
What did you do at this step when you installed?

try downloading it again. The first time i tried sp2 it hung, the second time failed, 3rd time was perfect, i have no pc problems. ms warned of download problems with it.
