The baseball season is too damn long. World Series should start Labor Day weekend. And Opening day should be Memorial Day weekend.

I agree.

The regular season is 62 games too long. Should be an even 100 games.

Is that like the SOX of last year where the fan from the stands took the ball away from the player and caused them the game and a shot at the World Series?....If so, that SOX! The curse just keeps, giving and giving and giving....:o]

"Yankees/Twins........Twins"

Guess not. The Twinks just lost three in a row to the Yankees. And I'm in MN, and would love to see them win. They're gonna choke!

Whomever wins, I salute Houston...the home of the most recent Super Bowl, where my Pats triumphed!

The Dodgers have that "Team of Doom" look about them -- and have had ever since "The Trades". Cards to sweep.

So as long as I'm ticking off rabid fans: the Yankees are really looking like the FOURTH BEST team in the playoffs... in the American League. Pitching iffy. If you can control Sheffield (which has often been done in the playoffs), then you're halfway home. And even if he has a big series, he's carried the team the whole year... that likely won't be enough.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have been a Braves fan since I knew what baseball was. If they are going to beat Houston, they need to get 'em quick: beating Clemens is a tall order, but I recall two Spring Training games. Bobby Cox made sure that his "A" squad got to see him twice in two consecutive starts in March. He got 'em the first time, but the Braves did well in start #2. So there's reason for hope in Atlanta against the hottest team in baseball.

Being a Braves fan, I will be the first to predict they will choke once again in the playoffs after a great regular season.

I refuse to get emotionally involved with the Braves in the playoffs this time. I just can't get back on that roller coaster.

I would love to see Dodgers-Angels. Barring that I like the Twins and Astros. The Twins because they are considered a small market team and continue to defy the odds by winning the old fashioned way. They dont have the big names but they manage to get the most out of everyone and play hard.

The Astro's because of Roger. It would be a great story to see him change his mind about retiring and lead his home town to its first world series.

I am not a sox fan but I love Curt and that would be a great story if he was to win two or three games and be the MVP

Oh -- the picks:

Braves in 5 to stymie the 'Stros AGAIN (it's a loyalty thing)
Cards sweep the Dodgers
Yankees BARELY over Twinkees in 5
Most Compelling Series: Sox lose to Angels in 5 (I wish I could believe otherwise).

Angels sweep Yankees
Cards over Braves in 6 games

Cards thump Anaheim in 6.

The SuperBowl was a heck of a game. The Panthers really made it interesting, but the Pats would not be denied.
Plus all the action leading up to the SuperBowl was great. Gotta love all the Bostonians who managed to deride the Yankees even while rooting for the Pats. I am really pulling for the BoSox in the AL, but if they meet up with the 'Stros I gotta go with the Good Guys.
I hope that 41 shows up at the Houston games. He usually sits with Astros Owner Drayton McLane. Thanks, Drayton, for everything you've done for Houston! And thanks 41 for guiding the world from the Cold War to the New World Order, and for raising such a fine son who became a great President.

What a bonehead play by Perez? He has him picked off at second and he drops? the ball. How on earth does he do that?

kinda like how the twinkies spanked the yanks last week right?

You only faced Santana for 4 shutout innings of one game during that series - you'll get the full double dose this time.

The Panthers really made it interesting, but the Pats would not be denied.

They would have been denied in both SB if the boston mob had not paid off the refs. Oakland beat them and last year the refs robbed the Colts of a win. They even made a huge deal out of enforcing the rules after the manhandling the Pats put on the Colts recievers.
