Yes--not nearly as good as the wonderful title might suggest. It has that cliched "wise child" to a newly single mother.

I did like the mom with the triplet 3-yr-old boys. She is probably the best-drawn character.

The settings were pretty cool--these pastel candy-colored pseudo-victorian houses all very close together.

Concur..she's a marvellous actress..and she had the three best scenes in the show..pulling out Santa's cell phone number to threaten her kids...jumping into the pool, and slugging her husband..

I've gotta say that after all the hype, I found this program dull. The women were stereotypes, we won't even go into the men. The characters were not interesting at all. Let's see a businesswoman who hates her kids. Nice. A woman who is having sex with an underaged boy. A VERY HOT divorcee who we are to believe is a wallflower and her oh so enlightened, precocious daughter who is smarter than she is. The perfectly coiffed, housekeeper. Do you know anybody even remotely like those people. Please. Oh, and let's not forget the neighborhood sexpot. It wasn't interesting, and to even put it in the same category as Twin Peaks is ridiculous. This shows what Hollywood thinks about the suburbs, motherhood and family. I read an article that the writer's ispiration was his Mother. That would make sense because all the stereotypes feel like they're living in the 1960's or the 1970's.

This is the year 2004. Women aren't caged and unable to do things. I just thought it was bizarre.
