This is a major major accomplishment. He is to be commended. As you say to break a record that old that no one has appraoched in in decades is amazing.

Yes, it sure is. Some will talk down the record because he did it in a 162 game season, while Sisler played 154 game seasons. MLB has played 162 game seasons since 1961 and only two players have even reached 240 since then, Erstad and Ichiro ... Ichiro twice! Just think of all the greats to play the game and not one of them has reached 250 since 1930. Amazing!
