Would your recipe be safe to use on dogs? Ours get "skunked" every now and then and I've tried lots of things, but nothing works.

Would your recipe be safe to use on dogs?

Absolutely. That's what I use it for. M'dog.

Skunk chasing dogs fall into two classes:
1. Those who learn the first time
2. Those who never learn.

I have a type 2 dog.

For washing dogs, the recipe would be a bit different. Eliminate the water first of all.

1 quart of Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup of Baking Soda
2 tbsp. Dawn.

Don't bring a freshly skunked pooch into the house. The dog will rub on things and tranfer the smell, then the whole house will smell like a skunk. I made that mistake once and he went under the dining room table and rubbed his face all over the carpet trying to get it off. Expensive lesson there. If you must bring him in, wrap him in something washable until you get to the bathtub.
Wash the dog with this while it is still foaming. Place cotton balls in his ears to keep out the liquid.

That's about it. None of this will be appreciated by the dog, so tag team him and get someone to help you.
