Does anyone know if a transcript is available, or did anyone see, the Don Imus/Jim Lehrer interview? I've seen a few references to it in other postings, but would like to see the whole thing, if possible. I did a search and nothing came up. Thanks.
I guess its a safe bet to assume Imus didn't ask Lehrer how much he got for giving Kerry the questions beforehand?
bump
Here's the transcript:
Don Imus (DI): Good morning, stupid.
Jim Lehrer (JL): Ha, ha.
DI: Did you know I'm supporting John Kerry for President?
JL: Yes, I've heard that before.
DI: So, tell me, Jim, since I'm a Republican, why were you so easy on the President last night?
JL: To tell you the truth, Don, I'm always unbiased and impartial. It's part of my professional ethic as a journalist.
DI: Ha, ha. Hey, Sid, what were you doing during the debate last night?
JL: Don't ask, don't tell, Sid!!!
DI: Ha, ha, ha. You're a dope, Jim.
JL: Thanks, Don, see you at the fundraiser next week!
I just watched it. It was unremarkable. Lehrer did not have a monitor. Otherwise it was just each congratuating the other on their interviewing skills. Lehrer did not express an opinion. You didn't miss much.
Can't find anything yet but keep an eye on these 2 sites.
