I noticed that Kerry got in a decent shot when he said "maybe I mispoke about Iraq, but W attacked Iraq, which mistake is worse?" Of course, this is typical cutesy debate crap, but the thing that I found amusing and tacky at the same time was that little grin, as if to pat himself on the back for being so clever, just like Mr. Roper, when he would take a cheap shot at his wife, and then look at the camera and get that huge grin.
I thought Kerry was going to be a total jerk tonite, I was actually hoping for it, so as to turn the swing voters off. But he wasn't too mean.
However, bottom line, as I've heard elsewhere, Kerry's campaign amount to two words, "Bush sucks". This is not even a campaign, it's merely an add-on to the Bush-bashing that those 9 dem yo-yos did to cheer each other up months ago.
Hey, JFK, America doesn't like whiners, and we especially can't stand Monday Morning Quarterbacks.
There's nothing incorrect about what you said. W was really fumbling tonite.
One other thing I noticed was that he kept fidgeting with what looked like his pen.
However, some of W's critiques of Kerry were so damning (and so correct) that they actually were worth repeating (I know W was accused of being a little repetitive tonite). I just got through looking at his website, stating how full of crap Kerry is, and I was a bit miffed that W couldn't have used more of what's on his website to mix in with the rest of his pounding of Kerry tonite.
I think the thing that has me the most shaken is that this country, collectively, is gradually losing its wisdom. If we think Kerry is a viable alternative, after his embarrassing and treasonous past, we are in deep do-do.
I'm also stunned at how treacherous the media is. I just can't believe that US journalists' professors so brainwashed them that they'll ignore the horrifying past of Lurch (or Slick Willie) just to get us to be more "reflective" and "tolerant" and all that other crap.

And all coming from brand new posters. Looks to me like from this thread we have had an influx of trolls!
You worry too much. GWB was focused enough to repeat the same points over and over. That's all he had to do. The debates, while watched by many, are really nothing but spectacle for the beltway, political wonks and junkies. In the days to come the polls will say John Kerry won the debate (so?!) but Bush still leads.
Kerry's people had to resort to A) our guy won tonight and, B) Bush looked like he didn't want to be there. Fair enough, he's the president...doing what presidents do...like running the country. Unlike Kerry, Bush has other duties besides a full-time campaign.
Kerry dropped so many anti-Kerry sound bites tonight the BUSH/CHENEY 04 team will have trouble using them all. Clearly the "Global Test" comment was a keeper not to mention the other "UN is GOD" drivel Kerry has always believed but this little nugget went relatively unnoticed: When Lehrer asked Kerry about Bush's supposed "misleading" the country, ol' John ran his usual shpiel but the kicker was GW's response. He said (paraphrasing) "My opponent saw the same intelligence I saw but I'm not running around the country saying he misled us." Great comeback and stuff like that plays in Peoria...if ya know what I mean.
