Strange as it may sound to some of you, the National Enquirer is not the same UFOs-and-Bigfoot tabloid it used to be. There standards are FAR more rigorous than almost any major newspaper's in confirming a story. There are other tabloids owned by the same parent who fill the old niche. If you read it in the Enquirer it is highly likely to be true. They just go after the stories that a lurid and sensational and that often don't qualify as "news."
