The US has problems with the Hard Left, which now controls the Democratic Party, the State Department, 97% or so of the media, almost all universities, the public elementary and secondary schools, for the msot part, and a good percentage of Churches and Synagogues.
I am not a polyanna. But reconsider your view of the Republican Party. The Republican leadership is letting us down badly, the Senate is betraying us to an extent. However, I do not believe the Republican Party is moving to the left, because the rank and file conservatives are, in my opinion, stronger than ever.
In addition, it is harder to maintain a percentage of purity as the ruling party than as a small fringe group, as in the past.
I understand your view, but see things a little more optimistically. We conservatives, in my view, need to coalese nationally and send a message in 2006. Being a resident of Western Pennsylvania (ie next to Ohio), I am going to personally devote myself to trying to form a Middle-Atlantic/Midwest Coalition For a DeWine Primary Defeat (MCDPD).
I'm not a conservative, I'm a radical.. I didn't decide to be a radical its just what I am.. I'm not for conservative change in government, I'm for radical change. You know; radical change, back to the Constitution.. with strong State Rights and all that..
That would take radical change.. not conservative change..
So then, I'm not a conservative.. Conservatives appear to be autistic and oblivious.. Theres many kinds of radicals from anarchists to Socialists.. I'm neither of those.. but I'm radical nevertheless.. So-called conservatives ARE Pollyanna's.. to call them otherwise flys in the face of political reality today.. Don't really like flying in the political air with Moonbats but the Moonbats are not happy either..
The border issue is all about Globalism with the tacit importation of millions people that could care less about national boundary's.. its not an accident.. its on PURPOSE.. Veritably under-written by a majority republican government.. I was on board with the Contract for America but that contract put the republican party asleep..
