I have over 25 years experience in the oil industry. I have dealt with people who are Muslims on a regular basis. Some are naturalized US citizens and others (particularly the younger ones) are native born. They are as good Americans as you or me.

Where I am, in southern California, there is a fairly large community of Muslims. We have many ex-Iranians. They don't have the opportunity to go home - they would be killed. They don't send money over there - because most of their relatives occupies graves. But they do support the President and all of his efforts. BTW, Persians are not Arabs.

I worked for some time for an Egyptian American. He was schooled in the Soviet Union while Nasser was the leader in Egypt in the 1960's. He has seen all sides (Middle East, Soviet Union, America). He's here today because he did not want to raise a family in some hellhole. He is very critical of the totalitarian regimes in the Middle East. But these days, with as many anti-Arab racist maniacs out there, it is better for him to keep a low profile. Don't mistake silence with disloyalty. The problems over in Iraq are no more his, then they are yours or mine.

I understand that Iran is mostly persian and not arab. I also understand that southern Calif. is a magnet for many from the mid east. I lived in North Hollywood for 17 years. Many went to college there. Sort of like many of the rest of us when given a choice of where do you want to go to school at govt expense, iowa or ucla? Not too dificult a choice.

I have a real problem in not seeing a very vast majority of muslims whether they be persian, arab, or even indonisian not denouncing these pieces of garbbage, and I say if you don't stand with us then the hell with you.
