Apparently, it's not illegal in California for someone who is HIV+ to have sex with unwitting companions. When my husband was working at a county clinic several years ago, he had a patient who had serial sex with anyone who was willing, and as a result, she produced HIV+ babies. For that alone, she should have been locked up and the key tossed into the weeds. The staff had a meeting to try to figure out what they should do - and there were social workers on the staff. My husband suggested that perhaps the woman should be sterilized, so at least she would inflict her disease on any more innocent babies.

Well.

You could have heard a pin drop, and if looks could kill, he'd have been dead and bleeding on the floor. He was pointedly "asked" to leave the meeting, as he wasn't being "helpful". The thing is, she had been counseled again and again about the consdquences of her behavior, which obviously wasn't working. And this wasn't even taking into account the men she was having unprotected sex with - how many of them contracted HIV, and then went on to share with others? Just disgusting. If indeed it is illegal in California for someone with HIV to have sex without informing their partner, no one in this case informed law enforcement. I guess that would have been an infringement of her "privacy". In the meantime, she doomed her children.

Don't say anything like that on this site.
There will be diatribes about Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, Eugenics and Nazis, and then you will get permanently banned.
