Magritte was a tuxedo cat too! I think he was sent here to be my spirit guide or something. For eight years he disapproved of any man who ever came over (be it a date or just a friend or a client or whatever). Magritte would sit there and glare at the poor guy. Iceman (hubby) was the first man Magritte did not glare at. We got married, and a year later, Magritte died...

Shortly after, the neighbors got together and had speed humps installed which has helped slow down the traffic a bit. Our outdoor cat Fluffy who adopted us does cross the street but he has for years. His home was originally diagonally across from us - renters who abused him. They are long gone but he still goes over there... but he's very street savvy and we can't keep him indoors. My first cat, Charlie, I lost to a car also even though I lived in a very quiet area. So sad.

Magritte's ashes/bones are still with us on the mantle.

Mimi didn't approve of too many people.
The ones she did approve of numbered in total at 3.
Though she merely 'tolerated' one of them.
