Morning, grannie
We had the nicest breakfast in the lodge dining room Saturday morning at Rough River State Park. Our table overlooked the lake and the fall colors were gorgeous. I'd love to go back sometime...without the grandkids.
When we got up and were getting dressed, the two year old started screaming bloody murder when we tried to take off his pajamas, and kept it up. Finally we realized that he wanted his breakfast, as he usually has before he got dressed. He finally shut up after we assured him that we were going to eat breakfast.
On the walk to the lodge from our room, the four year old kept saying he wanted waffles. No restaurant here in Cape Girardeau serves them anymore, just pancakes. So, when the the waitress was showing us to the table with the menus in her hand, he spots a picture of waffles. He was so excited he jumped up and down like a puppy beside her.
And the six year old princess took fifteen minutes to peruse the menu. She is learning to read and wanted to sound out and read every item listed.
You would think that with their mouths full of waffles, they would shut up for a while. But, nooooo, they had to tease and taunt one another in loud voices, just like they do at home.
