Explosive May Have Been Involved

A car exploded on a residential street Thursday morning, leaving one person dead, authorities said.
A New Jersey State Police spokesman said investigators believe the vehicle may have been deliberately driven into the front of a house in a domestic dispute.
One person inside the car was killed, said state police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Rehmann. The explosion occurred about 7 a.m. Television pictures showed a burned-out vehicle and damage to the facade of a building. It was not immediately clear if anyone inside was injured.
"It's my understanding -- initially, preliminarily -- that it's a domestic dispute of some type," Rehmann said. "There's evidence that there may have been explosives involved."
The state police sent members of its arson/bomb squad and K-9 units to the scene to assist Weehawken police and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in the investigation, Rehmann said.
