Up in the NW corner of the State there are few if any roads to or along the coast. It is beach hiking with scrambling around or over headlands and jumping from rock to rock. Have to watch the tides or one can get trapped against a sheer cliff....I didn't have anyone to pick me up at the next access point South, so I hiked 2 days and then went back North...Kind of dumb in a way..Could have broke a leg or something and end up drowned....
.....Westy....
There's a ten-day hike called The Shipwreck Trail or something like that... were you on that? Some of your description sounds like it. I always wanted to hike at least part of it, but it seemed pretty intense and of course I had no one to go with. I think it might meander into B.C. The coast trails sound so romantic anyway - full of shipwrecks, pirates, lost booty, gold coins :)
