Mr. Bush held rallies in out-of-the-way places like ....Three things made me believe that he would sweep Florida: His taking the time to make a hastily arranged stop here in our little town for a few minutes in the midst of a busy August campaign day just to acknowledge the crowd and to say "God bless you all and God bless the United States of America," the number of voters who on election day smiled and gave us Bush-Cheney sign carriers the "thumbs up" after voting, and the fact that so many of those were young people.

Mr catpuppy, some several weeks ago, you predicated that it would be quite a victory for President Bush. I believed, and you were so correct.
While it was not a total landslide, it was the election that the people spoke to define our nation, and they spoke clearly and loudly. Do they hear us now? LOL

I did overestimate and saw a "landslide" where none existed, mainly because from here it was apparent that Florida would not repeat 2000 when Republicans failed to vote.
Now more than ever, we need to continue to teach the young about our nation and to help them differentiate between values that matter and pop culture that doesn't.
Goodnight CB. Sleep calls ...

We're off... Goodbye all. Keep the homefires burning, and we'll hopefully check in on the trail. ;)

"Only when my bare nekkid eyes are not strong enough." It's s nekkid beach? LOL!
I am reminded of the episode of Three's Company where a nude beach was opened up close by and Stanley took a sudden interest in "birdwatching," taking daily walks at the beach, binoculars in hand... at least until Mrs. Roper found out what he was really doing.

The horror, of your brutal weather.
To: lodwick
Having lived in Austin for several years, I know the terror that deep winter there must hold for you, loddie. What is it, about 6 days a week warm, one day sub 70 degree cool? How can you bear it?
