The question I have always had about doing that was How do they get it on the horse in the first place? Seems even if you hook it to the saddle before you saddle it would be difficult because of the rattleing.

I was there for that. She was broke to the point where she would stand while you quietly put the saddle on. it wasn't loud at the slightest movement, it was a burlap-like bag with a cans that we 'held' still while saddling, and she was outnumbered by people in case she blew up. She stood still till everyone walked away, and she wasn't sure what to do. It wasn't till someone clucked to her that she moved.
