Yeah:(, he's a cribber from way back. He was already doing it before we got him. He was stalled alot.
We almost lost him twice from it. We just finally put him in all hot wire, I even had to run a loop of hot wire over the tops of the t-posts that hold the wire.
One time, before we got it under control, he had cribbed non stop for about 3 days. My son took him to a practice roping, and the guy that ran it told him to take him home because he thought he was colicing. Sure enough he was, As soon as he got out of the trailer here, he just collapased in the front yard. My husband and son went back to the roping.
As long as I sat on a bucket next to him and rubbed his stomach he didn't roll. Did do alot of groaning. I could hear all that air rumbling thru him. Took about 2 hours, then all of a sudden he started farting. I swear he could have made the guiness book of records for the longest non-stop fart. You could see his stomach deflating. My dog was standing at his rear end turning her head from side to side trying to figure out what the noise was coming from there:)/ I was about to roll off the bucket laughing.
He laid there about 5 more minutes then got up and started grazing, then back to cribbing. The day after that is when we put up the hot wire. Since he's been loose in the pasture, I've kept that cribbing collar on him. He'll turn his head sidewise and crib off trees. Hard core:)

I am in Northeast Ohio, so don't feel bad. :) I aways wanted to visit New England in the fall. I hear ya, about the cold weather. There is going to be a big change starting tomorrow. Maybe, even some wet snow on Saturday.
