That's how Cindy's hip got broken. That Dalmation not only didn't know what to do, but he didn't know how either.

Good morning,
Having a cup of coffee and a cigarette before I start a 20lb turkey. Smallest I could find in the stores so I am going to have turkey leftovers forever I think.

He started his ride with two Tennessee Walkers I believe, however, right now he has four mustangs. When he rode from the artic circle to the equator, he was riding a quarter horse. I don't know much about him, but am looking forward to meeting him and his horses. I was laying awake last night thinking about him and the horses dealing with the weather through the winter. Yes, has to be one tough guy.

Thank's for the info. We had to put down our mare because she ate acorns and got severe colic. Acorns must taste very bitter to a horse, but apparently some horses eat them anyway.

I am so sorry to hear about your horse. Wish I lived closer so you could have moved her in here until you had grass again.

The other day we came out during feeding time. Remember that my husbands horse always wants to eat in the same place? Well the geldings down so only the first 5 or so buckets filled. He just stood by his waiting and looking confused. He wouldn't go to the empty one with feed. I tried to coax him over but nothing doing. My husband said just leave him along and if he was hungry he would eat. He finally went over and stretched and would grab a bite and jump back. That's when it hit me that that was were he got into the hot wire when he was 1st pastured. I really think he has probably got shocked at the other buckets and thinks that the ones he always goes to "safe" He get's his share but will not take the first 5 buckets but runs the others off down the other 5. Funny huh?

So how was everyone's day?

We had a good time, and lots of good food. I'm miserable:)

Spent the day at my daughters, my son, DIL and grandson was there.

Ate, laid around for awhile, then went out while the sun was shining and knocked golf balls into the pasture. Then walked that pasture to pick them up. Then more food....why.

Now on to Christmas.

I saw my mare. Been awhile since we had a mare in foal. Anyone know, when do they start "looking" pregnant? Belle looks healthly and fat, but not really pregnant fat, she's should be around 5 months.

I had her vet tested and she was in foal. But she did loose one a few years ago, so I've been worrying that would happen again. The vet said everything looked fine at about the 2 month mark.

It's been a nice family day. I didn't eat a lot but I did have a piece of apple pie with ice cream and I'm going to have a turkey sandwich later

It does sound like he expects to get shocked doesn't it? Poor guy. Can you change his bucket to a different location? Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
