Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the last thread we had a great time and were a great help to each other working through lessons and training, horse lamenesses and illnesses, questions and challenges and always just our stories we like to tell.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the last thread, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
This man sounds really inspiring - I'm going to see if I can find books and/or videos by him or about him for the library.
Another one to see if I can find info on for the library. Thanks. We have a fair amount of handicapped patrons, some of whom need a little inspiration.
Outstanding, bet you're smiling about that :) - Her coming home, not the mud.
What are you going to call your store? I've forgotten, and can't remember how far back it was. Do we get pictures of it?
I haven't heard of it, where is it located?
The riding a little difficult though. I should have brought my own tack. He has a short rope rein on her and it took me 2 times to get on. I was standing on a lawn chair and the first time I had to step down because I couldn't get my leg over. The saddle broader (ouch) and I had to point my toes instead of dropping my heels to make stirrup contact first. It made my right leg shake. The guy asked me if I was nervous. I wasn't but couldn't stop the muscle twitching. I get comfortable and don't like change:')
dogS. He turned 3 loose. I walked her in and out of them as they followed us.
I'm happy for you about your business. I was just looking at some horse T-shirts. 5 dollars a bargin:')
Yeah. I really hated leaving her tonight. My husband looking forward to it too. Seems I'm getting too bossy about "his" horse.
You know, I'm not real sure, Rural something, I think. It's all agricultural stuff. You can sure learn alot about taking care of your pastures, animals, tractors, etc. It's my favorite channel.

This site has pictures and information. He really is an awesome person and the nicest trainer I've ever had the priviledge to work with.
Call your cable or satellite company and see if they offer it and what channel it's on. You'll love it, lots of horse stuff. They even have auctions of horses and cattle and those are fun to watch.
I live in OKlahoma..

The name is $5 T-Shirt Factory.
Yeah, I'll take some pictures:)

Sounds like it went good inspite of the different saddle. I don't like riding in different saddles either.
How long till you bring her home?
Becky
Sometime tomorrow
Well hopefully the $5 shirts will get people in the door, and then after a while I'll carry other stuff. It's not a big place, only about 12X12 room. But it has street front windows, and I don't have to pay rent:). I;ll get another room off this one to keep the press and supplies in. Hopefully too, someday, I'll have a computer down there to help kill slow time. I'm starting out using a cash box and receipt book, we're looking into tomorrow getting hooked up to one of those credit card things.
Becky
Suonds exciting. The girls helping you?
