Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the last thread we had a great time and were a great help to each other working through lessons and training, horse lamenesses and illnesses, questions and challenges and always just our stories we like to tell.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the last thread, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
My hair is coarse, frizzy, curly and wavy all at once when it's long. When it's short it's frizzy and bouncy with wave.
Oooooo I would love to go through those museums!! The restored old west town sounds right up my alley, even if it is a tourist trap. You can really get a feel for how those people lived in a place like that. My husbands parents live in Abilene, Texas, and that's an interesting place to explore. There is an old fort out there, called Fort Phantom, that's really neat. We went out there on a dark, dreary winter day and you could almost feel the phantoms.
My husband knows better than to ask me to go camping. I would like to add one more perk of civilization to your list: a clean potty and toilet paper on a roll hung on the wall. I don't have the ability to squat. Must be a birth defect. (that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!)
Sounds tidy ;~D So you both smell like a salad now eh?
It's drizzling here too... FWIW...
I would have paid money to see that.
I hate hotels. (the unpacking and packing) I'm an RV person that likes to sleep and eat outside but likes to shower and dress inside.
Well I thought about it for free. My husband reluctantly helping. I started to ask him to go get the camera but on second thought it wasn't prudent:')
Did you get brown gunky stuff out of her ears? What do they look like? red looking or not?
Well my son came by on his way to work and covered his nose. I think I'll just buy her a few Summers Eve tomorrow :')
They were dirty but I didn't notice drainage and it washed out.
I'm still gonna coat her with fungus cream in a little while.
Good idea ;~D
Dog has a stinky twat too, huh? Poor dog just can't get a break.
oh dear.... I think I'm gonna sign off for the night on that note. ;~D
LOL. Well that way I'll at least have a squirt bottle to mix my own. I think I'm going to pick up an adjustable shower cap that will tie under her neck the next time so she can't shake it on me.
night
Good night ;~D BTW... I don't think that explanation helped ;~D
Good thinking. Applying meds to an animals ears is never pretty.
Good night.
Sorry about that last comment. It just popped into my head and made it's way down to my fingers, I had no control.
He'll love that. A favorite of his.
