Yeah - I am impressed with how like ecurbh's western saddle is.
I wondered when they came out if they'd hold up well, but they seem to be holding up just fine.
er... how ~light~ ecurbh's western saddle is....
Yeah, this one only 3 pounds heavier but it's a little wider and has a cantel(?) Have you seen the new air grip pads though? So far I really like mine. I was concerned about the material but I don't notice any rubbing or changes in the horses sweating pattern. The saddle seems to fit better and I don't feel the slipping as much.
I think I know what you mean by air grip.... They look like honeycomb? I've seen them but not used them yet.
Yeah. The trainer suggested I try one. I really like it so far. My only corncern is something, a sticker or something, getting in the holes.
If I get an English saddle it will be one like yours, WindTec. I won't ever spend the amount on a saddle I did with the one I have now. You'r never know by looking at it now, that it was a custom made nice saddle. Looks pretty wore:)
I think Jenny's pad is one of those air grip kind. Personally I didn't like the looks of them. The thing I have to consider is the amount of time it is on. The neoprene one will work if you only ride for short times. It's when you get into the 4-5 hours at a time, in hot weather, that they cause trouble. I'm afraid it would be the same thing with the air grip. JMO.

The farmer just took down all his corn next door and some of the empty husks got thrown over into the pasture. I went out there and picked them all up, 400 of them or so... because my horse started eating them. Can these hurt his stomach and make him sick or are they fine stuff for him to eat?? -- for next time. (Yes I grew up in the suburbs).
Hmmm.... You know, I might be careful like you, but I bet it would be fine. Might be a good phone call to the vet question. Lots of farmers feed corn stalks to cattle.
Blue Man group is Awesome, (if that's what you're talking about) I've heard that Mama Mia is supposed to be good as well. I actually had a friend of mine audition for Blue Man and get in. He's a fantastic drummer, needless to say, and is killer at catching marshmallows in his mouth.
You can feed horses corn husks, just not too much at a time. They're good as a treat. 400 is too much.
I hope he won't be like that horse that drank koolaide next season now that he knows what it taste like :')
Well, he did seem upset that I was picking them all up and removing them. He did like them. I lured him back into his barn with some sweet feet but he gobbled it down quick and ran back out to see what I was up to. About 500 feet or so of his pasture is along the farmers field. The tractor is a huge John Deere and it was a good 6-8 feet away from the fence line but it still managed to toss a few hundred empty corn cobs into the pasture. Makes my stomach hurt thinking of all those silly things in his tummy. He must of managed to eat 15 or so while I was trying to pick them up.
They do like their eats don't they? We end the day by about a 1/4 scoop of feed in their bucket and then letting them graze in the grass a few minutes. I lead Sarah Lee out with my right hand and carry her bucket with feed in my left. She's been cool with that. Monday though I had left one of the buckets outside so I put Okies in hers. She had to wait for my husband to pour his out. She didn't like that at all. You would think she was starving. I made her stand and wait before going to her bucket on the ground. If horses could cry......
What is 'tick" riding? I know it has something to do with cows. My trainer called me and gave me a number of a horse trainer that will work with Sarah Lee if I want .
No clue. Google turns up nothing.
Mornin Valerie. That kind of looks like my horse:')
