I just don't think he expected it, and now he will

I'm sure. I have a horse trainer coming out to talk to me this week. I can't do this by myself anymore . The "unexpected" getting to me. I'm about ready to ship Sarah Lee off to Houston :')

Who's the new trainer? Someone who may work on the horse? or help you work on her?

The unexpected always happens, whether you expect it or not ;~D Overall, Cyn did fabulous yesterday. More lucky than smart ;~D

Yeah, I just told Eddie and he's rolling. The guy kept borrowing my phone. No telling what he was telling his boss that crazy woman expected him to do:')

For the horse but hopefully I can learn what to do too. I know the unexpected happens but it's becoming expected, if you know what I mean. I'm just stumped. I was told to keep exposing her to dogs but with a buck/crow hop, a sideways shy and now a kick at the same spot she's not getting better IMO and I'm not sure to reassure or discipline. I'm fine with her in "safe" areas but I can't keep her away from the barn and dogs all the time. That's no fun:')

I think I must have missed the story of the sideways shy and the kick.... when did that happen? were there dogs present at all? Did she get spooky on ya but keep going? What did she kick at??

Sorry. I thought I mentioned it. Well you know about her bucking me off. She evidently saw a dog raise up (same spot) while being led by another rider and jumped sideways with all 4 feet off the ground. That's why my trainer was questioning if she actually bucked. Tue was an uneventful lesson. I was taking her back to pasture. We had just walked out of the barn and two dogs not even close to her walked behind her maybe about 10 feet. They didn't do anything. Just crossing paths. She suddenly jumped back and threw her butt up and stomped the ground. I think I can control the crow hops and side movements now that I know what to expect but I don't know if I could have stayed in the saddle the last time. It's got something to do with the dark opening of the barn behind her and dogs. I would bet that a dog around the first time because I didn't notice these two until she jumped back while I was leading her.

Oh, sounds like you had a great ride. I love that area, it is really beautiful. You sure did get a winner in Cyn, don't you think. She'll get the hang of water one day. It is really nerve-wracking if you aren't expecting a jump. ecurbh has a good seat, he stayed on :)

Boy, I'd have loved to see his face - and yours. So whose dog is it?

Next time you have a vet around, have him check her eyes. She may have a vision problem that can be overcome just with work.

Not sure but I think he thinks he's mine. He's in my back yard. He doesn't have a collar. I guess I'll have to call animal control.
