Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the last thread we had a great time and were a great help to each other working through lessons and training, horse lamenesses and illnesses, questions and challenges and always just our stories we like to tell.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the last thread, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
I don't think it hurts to keep them going, I don't think it hurts to let them stop. I just get tired of people fussing at me for letting mine stop:)
How horses poop is a topic I've discussed alot with different people. It's funny how different horses are. My mare never pooped in the same place when stalled but always went around the edges of the stall, kept the center clean. Rowdy, Kristy's horse pooped in the same place in the stall everytime. Could pile up like the empire state building if I didn't muck every day. Then this roping gelding that Charlie had pooped ANYWHERE, in his trough, in his water, he was such a slob.
Harley, and Rusty who have free choice of going in their stalls or not, go into the stalls to poop, and stand in the runs.
Rocky NEVER poops in his stall unles it's snowing.
Guess horses are like people, some slobs some not.
Becky
Hair's working on her version, so you'll have 2 to choose from. ;~)
Ok, but now what do I do to get it too the site?
Sorry for being so illiterate about computers:)
Becky
That's fine honey! I didn't know you were doing it too!
I got one down to the right size, but snapfish tried to bump it back up again ;~D Yours is better.
If you right click that pic and choose "save as..." you can save it back to your computer and upload it from there to the site.
When I click save as I get:
demotivator_1786_7440911, or
Property Back
Then when I go to the site and click where I should put something, I get the box that says My compputer, My docs. etc.
If I click my computer (which is what I think I should click:) I get
3 1/2 floppy A,
icon of computer C,
icon of computer with a disc above it D
What do I do?
This is really makeing me feel stupid:)...LOL
Becky
When you right click it, you should see an option to "save picture as" that will open to a place where you can choose a new name for it and where to put it on your computer... ie: in a folder, or on your desktop.
Make sure you are clicking right on the picture and not somewhere else on the page.
Try that.
OH BTW:)
Thank you so much for the help. The picture looks great. I really appreciate it. Mack is not here, he would probably know what to do.
Do you think this is a good one for selling purposes, or should I have had one where he was not being rode?
Becky
When you go to the site and click to upload the pic, you'll just have to remember where you put it and browse to that.
It worked!!!!
Thanks:)
There is a place to e-mail the ad to a friend. If you would like to see it send me your e-mail address.
THANKS AGAIN
I'm grining from ear to ear, because I did it.
Becky
I think it's a pretty good pic for showing him. I can see a lot about him in the pic; that he has a pretty way of going and some collection, nice head and neck, nice structure and a great butt... and that he has a fairly young rider on him. Sometimes you can't see the horse as well all tacked up, but you could email another pic with no tack to them if they asked, and you might say that in the ad. On the other hand, sometimes you can't envision how the horse goes from a standing posed shot.
FRMail sent ;~D
LOL! Frog and I are not the only ones that "rode the poop out of their horses"...... : )
I think I sent it. Let me know. I'm never sure if I did things right when it comes to computers.
Becky
It's a great ad. I replied at the addy on the page.
lol
My horse was smart enough to wait until we were in a crowd of people, just to embarrass me..... : )
???
Becky
Figured it out.
Becky
The invitation to see the ad didn't have a good reply address so I replied to the address you listed at the ad site ;~D
It's a great ad. It really describes well that he is extremely versatile and can go any direction. English people, trail riders, and barrel, rodeo and gaming people will get a good sense of him and be able to envision him doing those sports. The only thing he doesn't look like is a AQHA western pleasure horse, he has too much impulsion for that. Maybe after 50 miles when his head's draggin on the ground ;~D
