Sorry for another vanity, but I thought this should get a thread of it's own, because I haven't seen even one person think of this idea, and it really may be the ONLY WAY I can think of that CBS could salvage it's reputation.
A question for everyone: If CBS fired Dan Rather, and put Bernard Goldberg (author of "Bias") in as the anchor of CBS Evening News... would you "give them another chance"? Would you watch?
I can honestly say that I would. I know Bernie would give it to us straight. And I haven't watched CBS News for 15 years.
God knows, there's no one still in house who merits the job. If they did, they would've spoken up by now, much louder than any of them have. Bernie Goldberg gave up his career to expose CBS's bias, and I can't think of a better or more deserving journalist to get the spot.
Given recent events, and that he IS liberal himself (but a fair one), even fair liberals should be able to support this idea.
Anyway - Post to this thread if you support this idea! Let's get a wave of popular support for Bernie Goldberg as the new anchor at CBS News, so loud even CBS will hear it!

Yes, its a good idea, but no, I won't watch them. (Other than watching the Rather meltdown.)
I would. I'd rather get my news from Bernie Goldberg than anyone else, even anyone at Fox News, except maybe Brit Hume.
Who would you prefer to watch over him, if you wanted to watch the news at the 6:30pm slot?

I get most of my news intake at FR.
Okay, I gotta admit, I'm a bit surprised at the lack of responses to this idea. I've always thought Bernard Goldberg was one of the most popular people in the world on this site. Why the thundering silence?
