Expert suggests Peterson bodies draped in random debris unrelated to murders
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — A forensic examiner suggested Tuesday that a length of plastic around the neck of Scott Peterson's son was unrelated to the fetus' murder, a blow to the defense claim that the plastic points to another perpetrator.
Peterson's lawyers had said the positioning of the plastic loop indicated assailants wrapped the 4-foot-long strand around the baby's neck after it was born alive. Laci Peterson was eight months pregnant when she vanished Dec. 24, 2002, and her husband was under near constant police surveillance after her disappearance.
Criminalist Pin Kyo of the California Department of Justice, however, seemed to lend credence to prosecutors' theory that the fetus the couple planned to name Conner was expelled from the mother's womb after Peterson dumped her in the San Francisco Bay and the plastic loop was only trash that washed over the baby's head as the body floated toward the bayshore.
Kyo, spending her second day on the stand as a prosecution witness, said the loop was "chemically similar" to plastic debris recovered near Laci Peterson's remains and noted that it was not tied tautly.

Jim Hammer actually admitted that there could be good news for the Prosecution.?? He must have thought that it wouldn't match. That guy has a real chip on his shoulder. It certainly isn't Distaso's fault that Hammer couldn't follow instructions from his superior and shut up and consequently get himself canned.!! He did that all on his own. It would be interesting indeed to hear what Pixley has to say!!

I think I was just trying to get around how much mix was needed to make ONE puny like anchor like he did. It was all of I think they said 5 lbs or maybe 8lbs. But from a 90lb bag I had visions of him making a truckload full. LOL The IMPORTANT thing is, is that he OBVIOUSLY cannot tell the truth about where the balance of the bag of mix went. We know where it went and so does Geragos. How lame was that today that Geragos would get up and tell the Judge or maybe the witness that Peterson told LE he made two anchors! So????? The question remains: WHERE is the rest of the cement mix??
I'll just add one more thing to your description of Snott. He has been lying his entire life, his lies, when revealed as a child, we no doubt covered by his parents. He became a very sick but proficient liar. It took something THIS drastic for the spotlight to be shone on him and reveal the sneaky lying little insect he is!!
Hacking was a real liar alright, but he clearly couldn't live as if everything was normal like Peterson could. He came apart pretty quick.

I think Jackie let him get away with easy lies, too. He's not that good a liar. The cops must have been alternately outraged and amused at his pitiful stories and excuses.
They probably were at their wits' ends to keep from smacking that snotty look off his face.

Hacking is an aberration in an otherwise honest family. Scott has probably never met honest. I can imagine that he held Laci's apparent openess in contempt.
Hacking is misguiding and twisted up, but there is a concience in there that his brothers were able to tap.
Scott's family are tapdancing all over to keep him (and themselves) in deny-deny-deny mode.
