I'm an old goat who never heard of Stryper.

So tell me: is his name pronounced Str-eye-per or Stripper?

Stryper (pronounced like striper). Four-man Christian hard rock/heavy metal band active from about 1984 till 1990. Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, Oz Fox (excellent and overrated guitarist, IMHO), and Timothy Gaines). Disbanded in 1990.
