Forward-looking Vanity - How Will Dems Explain Away Bush Victory?
Posted on 09/14/2004 9:38:36 AM PDT by LIConFem
Thought it might be fun to see if we can predict how the Democrats will explain Bush's victory in November (yeah, I'm an optimist :)
I doubt they'll use the "Disenfrenchfriesed voters, hanging chads, too few recounts" strategy again. Didn't work out very well for them four years ago. But I'm sure they'll attempt to manufacture some sort of scandal or conspiracy theory to call the election results into question. Personally, I think they'll blame the SwiftBoat Vets, claiming the organization was funded by the RNC (even though this claim has already failed to hold water -- but Dems rarely let truth stand in the way of a good tantrum.)
Anyway, I'm just curious to see what others can come up with. Any ideas?

won't we have plenty of time to worry about this after the election? I am just waiting until 5pm so I can get out of work and go back making calls at the local GOP office.

The Dims were too stupid to show up?
Seriously: They're not going to be able to claim a 'popular victory" this time, because we're going to get every GOP voter in Texas to the polls THIS time, and we'll put Dubya over the top.

They'll whine how if only Bill Clinton could have run again how he would have beaten Bush in a landslide.

Well, let's GET that victory first!!!
Yes, we will have disenfranchised voters in about 30 states, maybe more. Blacks will sue. Re-counts will be demanded. Many will be blamed and Pres. Bush will be more hated and disparaged than ever.
But we need to work hard to have that wonderful moment when he has a victory way beyond the margin of error!

Assuming that the outcome of the election is that Kerry loses, most of the democrats will deny reality and not honestly assess on why he lost. They will most likely blame it on dirty tricks and mean attacks by Bush. They will say "Kerry did not respond" to the mud-slinging. This despite the fact liberals have called Bush "a Hitler" and called Republicans "Nazi's" for about a year now. And thats just for starters.
The real big-picture reason is because he was too liberal for the rest of America and that he was not a good national candidate. America has not elected a liberal northeasterner in many decades and there is a reason for that.

Their favorite reaction is to call the masses "idiots" or stupid. Other explanations as to why their morally and intellectually bankrupt ideas didn't win (again) might be:
voter fraud
bizarre conspiracy involving corporations
that we suppressed the "black vote"
"conservative media" (what a joke) didn't allow their message to get out
we bashed them with dirty lies
something about the Illuminati, Masons, or Rockefellers
Aliens. That's right, aliens.
Mind control tactics
God knows what else

They definitely WON'T be taking any responsibilty for this loss, any more than they have in the past. Look for the liberal press to get even more partisan than they already are, with their lefty counterparts in academia, Hollywood, and the bar to fret about how "illegitimate" and "unfair" and "negative" the campaign was, and why that entitles them to resume and expand their seditious activities.
These fine Americans will be apologizing for Islamo-facists at every opportunity, and will look for any chance whatsoever to undercut our fighting men and women.
I have come to believe that liberalism is a narcissitically-linked emotional disorder, with the prospect of genuine change for its deepest sufferers remote at best. They are ultimately interested in their own self-destruction, which they have somehow tied to society at large- particularly at the national level.
If -God forbid- the rabid terrorists of the Religion of Peace get ahold of a WMD, these same liberals will be in the streets demanding unconditional surrender and mandatory conversion to Islam.

Yes, fear is a big thing with Democrats. I have a friend who wears a button that reads, "Make the Scary Republican Go AWAY". I'm looking for a place to have a t-shirt made up that says, "Scary Republican since 1980" (that's when I first registered to vote).

The internet and those who made it the new pajama wearin media. Hillary and Co. will launch renewed efforts to restrict and/or license internet access. Of course all urban areas will be exempt.
My first guess will be that the liberals will launch gleaning programs from chatrooms which identify conservative discussions which take a shot at people or organizations who will then file lawsuits claiming damages based on unfair slander.
The liberals will figure a way to sue those who use internet content to second guess the liberal master.
Just my prediction........

The scale of the Democrats' impending defeat (a 5 to 8 popular vote point margin) will beggar and confuse efforts at finding excuses. Many will blame the war, but that is a transparently weak excuse because it is not that we are at war that will have hurt the Democrats but that they are anti-war. It will come as a painful shock to many Democrats on the Left to realize that most Americans want for their country to win instead of retreating.
The Democratic Party's fire eaters will say outrageous things, the more disciplined pros will go silent or cough out strained congratulations, while the centrists will try to reassert themselves. They will all hope to regain ground in the 2006 election cycle based on the sixth year of a Presidency usually bringing losses across the board for the incumbent party. Incumbent Democratic officeholders will wait for trends to become clear before committing to any course beyond careful advocacy of traditional Democratic issues.
Hillary, of course, will see the way as being open for her to run for President in 2008. Unfortunately, she will be a formidable candidate and we have no clear heir apparent.

My liberal friends say that:
- Democrats just aren't as good at lying as Republicans
- Republicans are better at PR (maybe that's the same thing), and
- They can't believe how stupid the American people are.
One told me he's moving to Europe if Bush wins.

This is intellectual verses emotional. The kool-aid drinkers are not intersted in facts and reason they are too emotionally attached to their paradigm. That's why it's like talking to a wall even when presenting indisputable facts and evidence proving ones assertion. The Dan Rather's and Dem leaders know this and play on the emotions.
This election is a good indication that we are nearing a point where more people actually think and weigh the issues then rely on rabid emotional loyalty to the party despite any facts and evidence to the contrary.
We are near the middle point so to speak. In other words just a little past 50/50 emotional vs intellectual which is why it is so chaotic and the dems feel their power slipping away forever. So they have gotten stupid in their final futile battle to keep their power.

Isn't that telling? They view it as a battle of lies and deception - because those are the tools that they use. It never dawns on them that our policies are preferred.

For some reason I'm starting to see just how really dangerous the Democrats are. Or maybe its the liberals. Yea, I think its the liberal base of the democrat party. Every thing these people do or try to do can lead to the death of our country and us. I think the liberal base of their party uses the nice old blue haired ladies and the old men in their wheelchair with their ear horn, so they can hear. They start off with a good idea and then expand on that idea to our taking on the rest of the world. It used to be give a man a fish and he will eat for a meal. Give a man the knowledge on how to fish and he will never be hungry again. The liberals want to give a man a fish, the pole, the hook, line sinker and a car to get to the fishing hole. and we get to pay for it all. And of course we have to clean it all up by saying, of course I want to help and do everything I can to aid these poor folks. While I can hardly abide with Bush, the country can fall if Kerry gets in there. I do believe its that serious. I'm a whole bunch more for lets take care of our country and after our country is running smoothly and its all taken care of, then lets start helping the rest of the world.God Bless y'all, KennyBob the Texasreb
