Need definitive truth on Michael Moore

Posted on 09/13/2004 8:10:52 AM PDT by ConservativeChris

I need your help. My Wife manages a restaurant, and there are the usual number of kids working there. One girl in particular (18) will be voting her first time for John Kerry, why, because of Fahrenheit 911. So I need the definitive truth on Michael Moore/Fahrenheit 911. I have been to the usual websites, but I think I need a 1-2 page report (this is the MTV generation after all) exposing all the lies, to sway her back the right way

Too much information for The Sheep - you need a 15-second soundbite. It's all the little hiphopheads can handle.

My guess is this 18 year old won't really show up at the polls anyway. But, as the boss, don't you think it is somewhat inappropriate to do this?

I applaud your wife for at least trying to show this young miscreant the right path. But at work, unless you work for the DNC or a union, politics shoud not be an issue. Just fire the the liberal wannabe.

How many 18 year olds vote???? Not many. I bet this age group skews heavily Demo anyways, it takes life experience and maturity to realize what losers Democrats really are.

Voter Registration and Turnout in Federal Elections by Age 1972-1996

In 1996, the latest election they have posted, out of the 10,785,000 18-20 year olds, 3,366,000 or 31% voted, representing 3.21% of the total votes cast.

That doesn't matter, though, because their votes counted just as much as the votes of older people. We need to make inroads into that age group, just as any other.

Now, you're right, most yutes tend to be Democrat, or at least more susceptible to the Dem propaganda. But the success of Young and College Republicans across the country show that not all yutes are skulls-full-of-mush.

Ok, so your wife is the boss. I stand corrected. But, putting myself in the young woman's shoes, I would find it inappropriate and uncomfortable for my boss (or the spouse of my boss) to do this. But that's just me. I suppose it depends on the relationship.

Tell them they are working in a restaurant and it shows a level of education that Moore feeds on.

my question would be why is this employee's vote any concern of yours or your wife's? In this country, if she wants to vote for a 3-legged orangutan, that's her right and privilege. If she chooses to believe the lies of MM and F-911 and decides to vote

To a point I agree with you. But if Michael Moore and the rest of the MSM, can lie and fool enough people, the rest of us have to live with the consequences. Think of it this way, we have a MORAL obligation to our fellow citizens to give them the truth.

Hey I'm trying to do my part to make sure the next time I address you it wont be prefixed by "Comrade".

I appreciate your concerns, however, voting is a privilege and a right extended to all Americans of legal age and status. Your post suggests that you intend to re-direct her vote preferences such that they coincide with yours. IMO, you may present alternative information as a courtesy, but attempting to redirect this employee's vote, particularly in an employer-employee relationship, strikes me as inappropriate. In addition, depending on how this employee interprets your actions, it could be viewed by the EEOC and NLB as risking her job unless she votes your way. To avoid that potential, my advice is to butt out. Her vote is none of your business.

That's true. However, if there are enough idiots and morons in this country gullible enough to allow themselves to be suckered by a slickly edited MOVIE, that's a greater concern than how a single individual casts their vote. We need to be substantially more proactive in correcting the what and how of information presentation in our public schools to encourage the idiots and morons to be less gullible and more thoughtful about the votes they cast.
