The Democrat Party is the party of entitlement, by entitlement, and for entitlement. The Democrat Party platform is all about entitlement whether it is a monetary entitlement such as food stamps or a license to take the life of the unborn called abortion. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Democrat spokespeople seemed surprised at the furor over the political hit piece on President Bush presented by 60 Minutes.
On a recent Scarborough Country, Bernard Goldberg offered that in the halls of CBS News it would be difficult to find one Bush supporter. He takes for granted that inside the bureau you will find those who openly and unapologetically support Kerry. It is in such a climate as this, that the DNC coordinated a counterattack to a legitimate 527 such as the Swift boat group.
Obviously, the Democrat party does not invite the scrutiny that would reveal that there are organizations within the MSM that are public corporations licensed to represent stockholders and licensed to operate and conform to the public good by the FCC, but which are being misused to promote partisan political purposes.
Juan Williams, a commentator for Fox News, is a partisan Democrat who does not quite understand what the big deal is about over the fact that 60 Minutes was used as a Democrat 527 to attack the President using fraudulent documents. You see Williams believes that everything is an entitlement, and that the Democrat party is entitled to misuse CBS as 527 for the Democrat Party. He clearly understands what Bernard Goldberg understands and that is the MSM is unabashedly over 90% Bush haters. By its demographic composition, the Democrat Party is therefore entitled to use CBS and NBC with the three day Kelley interviews to counter what the Swift boat veterans did legitimately. CBS and NBC will give for free what the Swift boaters had to buy. Not only that, but they will suspend any pretense of journalistic standards to ensure the Swift boaters are countered. If the MSM is solidly and enthusiastically against Bush, then the Democrat party can rationalize that they are entitled to use the broadcast networks as stealth 527's, although statutory and regulatory law would assert the opposite.
It is the bloggers, conservative talk radio, some print pundits, and the Fox News Channel which stand in the way of the Democrat Party from claiming without impunity 60 Minutes and the Today Show as their own personally directed 527's.
The election may turn on whether CBS can continue to stonewall or if it is forced to come clean and turn over the copies which were first given to them for analysis, along with revealing who was the source who gave them the copies. It will be difficult for the Democrat Party to accept that there may be forces which can check their almost total control of the MSM.
527?
They're two points better than 527s? Oooooooo. I'm impressed.
Forgive me, I am proned to a Bushism every now and then.
How did you find out about the Stealth F-29? Nobody is supposed to know about it yet.
At least you ARE consistent. ;-)
File a libel lawsuit on CBS and make a judge have them disclose the original documents or the source.
Aww c'mon. Quit ribbing a decent post. Let's get on the case Of the T'day show!
Even before forgery-gate, the entire Bush/TANG story as broadcast on CBS's "60 minutes" program was absurd beyond recognition.
The Mr. Barnes who was interviewed is of course a huge official in the Kerry campaign, a national co-chair.
What would have been the reaction last week had Mr. Rove appeared on say on Rush's program, stating he had little pieces of paper which indicted Kerry on this , that or another? It would have been laughed off the air, but this is the same thing with different actors.
The groups you refer to are 527's, not 529's. Fixed.
Have the FCC fine them for displaying their axx (Rather) in public ala Janet Jackson.

Mr. Moderator, I am greatly appreciative.
I would tend to agree with Pat Caddell who said if the documents can be traced to Democrat Party operatives, the election may be over. Americans say they do not like negative advertising, but analysis would say otherwise. But what most Americans do want is a sense of fair play, and if it is revealed that it was an orchestrated strategy to discredit Bush with forged documents, then I say it could move a significant group.
I would think that behaving like a 527 group with stockholder money would be illegal.
Yep, ifas, couldas, wouldas, they all have their place..... The question is does this trash really make any difference in the election regarding taking votes from the President? If it doesn't then what in the world is the reason to keep it on the front burner and take away from the Bush Campaign message..... It makes absolutely no sense to me but then I don't see it as anything devasting to the President.... All I see is it changes the discourse by the talking heads and political groupies and has little impact if any on the voters.....
This story is about the cover-up and the principals are getting very nervous. Hodges has walked away. The CBS expert is hedging. Dan can put what is left of his pathetic career on the line, but there are others who may not be so cavalier.
Personally, I think this election like the last election which involved an incumbent will center on personality not issues. Clinton was more likeable to most of the electorate than Dole. It was hard for me to understand that because I was an unabashed Clinton hater. If it is proven that Democrats tried to use fraudulent documents to indict the Presidents as a slacker, then I think it only helps Bush.

I think stockholders have an interest here, but that process is expensive and lengthy.
