A Glimpse Into the Bizarre Logic of American Educators
Education International 2004 Resolution on Education For Peace ^ | 09/11/04 | Chaffer

One of the most influential organizations affecting public education today, the Association
of American Colleges and Universities, and it's international comrades, the Education
International, issued it's 2004 Resolution on Education For Peace.

After a token condemnation of the attacks on World Trade Center, the EI's resolution
inexplicably launches its own attack against the U.S.-led war in Iraq, implying in a weird
twist of logic that the War in Iraq precipitated the events of Sept. 11.

Nevermind that the WTC attacks occurred in 2001 and the war in Iraq began in 2003.

The National Association of Scholars forum page addresses this irrational conclusion in
an article entitled The AAUP Goes to Porto Allegre, authored by K.C. Johnson
of Brooklyn College.
