Jenna Jameson's crazy porn life
CNN ^ | Wednesday, September 8, 2004 | Adam Dunn

Posted on 09/08/2004 11:17:42 AM PDT by No Surrender Monkey

Sing, Muse, of your meteoric ascent from a seething pit of pure, all-American white trash.

Sing, also, of five-figure fees for one evening's striptease, and of six-figure film contracts for the company you built.

Sing of rape and addiction and suicide, of thieves and junkies and lies, of vodka, Vicodin, and crystal meth.

But most of all, sing of Sex.

The muse invoked here is, of course, porn goddess Jenna Jameson (formerly Massoli), the star of countless adult films, magazines, and strip clubs -- and CEO of ClubJenna Inc., her film production and online licensing company.

"How To Make Love Like A Porn Star" is her latest product, an autobiography in the form of a rant interspersed with detritus from her life's ricochets, including a sample adult film contract, entries from her diary, comics, and the sprawling transcript from a recent family reunion (which reads like a police blotter).

(snip)

Jameson now sits atop a multimedia company which sells hundreds of thousands of copies of films it produces and innumerable downloads of video clips. She manages over a dozen porn stars. Her club appearances earn her up to $25,000 per show.

And yes, she is married (to producer Jay Grdina) and looks forward to retirement and motherhood, now both comfortably within reach.

So sing, Muse, of a messed-up kid from a ditch on the wrong side of the tracks who climbed to the top of a $3 billion industry, using only the power of her ambition and body.

Sing, Muse, of the glory of America.

Would she be in business if there wasn't such high demand???

There would be high demand for broadcasts of public executions too. Doesn't make it right.

It has to do with how you treat the opposite sex. You will objectify the opposite sex and your child will learn from this behavior however slight it is. If you are saying that watching and enjoying porn is not going to change your viewpoint of the opposite sex than you are mistaken.

I think it's a seedy indutry, no doubt about it. The new trend
that I've heard about is towards hetero anal sex-- nasty. It caters to the Howard Stern audience.

Lots of bloggers discussed how some young girl from Canuckistan consented to an unprotected, double anal scene and came down with AIDS.

Clearly, the industry and the people involved in it are pathological.

I wouldn't want to be in the industry and wouldn't want my kid to be in the industry, but I get that people watch it and it's hear to stay.

Yet, your hero Jenna Jameson is one of the people trying to mainstream pornwatching into a couples activity for men and women to both "enjoy."

I think such behavior is pretty mainstream at this point.

And your proof for this is?

My wife won't even let me watch "The Man Show".

Traci Lords did that about a decade ago.

Except, of course, she never achieved mainstream celebrity.

Her name carries less weight in Hollywood than Scott Baio's.

Jenna Jameson is trying to actually become a mainstream celebrity and seems to be having considerably more success.

Sing of lots of money but at months end, not having rent money

Sing oh where did my youth and money go.

Sing of HIV AIDS quarantine and death most probable and too soon

Actually, I think public executions would be right for there potential deterrent value.

Perhaps it's liberal for me to say it, but the Jenna Jameson case, we are all to blame. We watch it, we subsidize it, we want more and more of it. That's how it is.

In all honesty, I have to go with the moral, christian side of me. I have to try to see her as a child of God and not an object, despite her efforts to market herself as one. Try not to judge her but to pray for her, hope that she finds true happiness. I have to respect her freedom to choose that type of lifestyle, even though I find it disgusting. If I don't stick to my morals and my true political beliefs, what kind of persons would I be?

(All together now: "A senator from Massachusetts!")

In the absence of statistics, that's purely your surmise.

Ahh, somewhat like Saul/Paul should have never become a Christian. So much for love and forgiveness. So much for a compassionate god. So much for human kindness.

...her ability to "freely choose" this lifestyle may be less than whole.

You know, a lot of guys would love to be porn stars (if I were a bit more of a looker I might have considered it); and no one ever comments on their choices. However, whenever a woman chooses to become a porn star, she was obviously duped or coerced into it. I've never quite understood the double standard.

Newsflash, teenage boys find their parents stash and show it to their teenage girlfriends. College guys rent the movies and ask their girlfriends (your daughters) "would you do that for me?"

And then married couples watch it together.

That's how it is. I'm not saying it speaks well of the Republic, but that's how it is.

Apparently, so much for my being allowed an opinion without being crapped on. But I can take it... I know that I'm the only person participating in this thread that has ever judged another human being.

Oh, that's hooey. So if my Dad subscribed to Playboy or watches porn, that means he can't be a good role model? Come on. I think you are severely underestimating the intelligence of human beings here. Most people (and I emphasize "most") are capable of separating fantasy from reality. Porn is fantasy. Most people understand that.

There are tens of millions of people in this country that watch porn--indeed, 60 Minutes even reported that more people watch porn than sports--and you're telling me that all of these people are instantly disqualified from being good role models for their children? Because they engage in sexual fantasy? Please.

The simple fact that children learn from their parents explicitly as well as implictly. I think every parent can agree children are great at picking up bad habits. That is why they learn from not only what you say but what you do.

My experience with this is purely anecdotal, certainly. However, at least with people in my age group (20's-30's), porn viewing is pretty co-ed.
