have you not heard? men 25-45 have deserted TV in droves.
"Lovey! I am quuuuuuuuite harmed from this skin abrasioooon! Whaaaarr is my Purple haaaaaaaart!"
But since Jim Backus isn`t available, I would probably use Peppe LePew.
I will boycott the Oscars as you suggest even if the "Passion of the Christ" is nominated (as it wouldn't win anyway).
Gee, next thing you know the Pope will admit to being a Catholic.
And why not? Straight, white, married males are most often portrayed as stupid and if they aren't stupid they're evil and generally they're both.
Sorry, but No Dice (which is what most women say when you put on "the Day the Laughter Died" album)
Hey, I hate the left-wing nonsense of Hollywood as much as the next guy, but Boycotts aren't my style. I love watching, talking about and following the movies almost as much as I like talking politics. The twain may not meet, but I'll make them co-exist peacefully.
I've watched every Oscar ceremony since 1994 with rapt attention, and I'll watch this one too. I just disregard the occassional award of Marxist BS as a sign of Hollywood bias, and compare the other, more decent winners to my own top picks (which I compile every year before the Oscars).
BTW: "Mystic River" was 2003's finest film, NOT the Return of the King, Mr. Oscar.
AAAAAAAKKKK! Heresy!!!!!!
Calm down, hobbit boy. There's no battle here.
Just a slight disagreement.
A fascinating, moving story, A damn fine script, solidly directed and powerfully acted--- what's not to love in "Mystic River"?
"LOTR: Return of the King" was an epic, excellent fantasy actioner for certain (good for a Best Picture NOMINATION), but it just didn't hit me like "Mystic River" did on as many levels as it did.
Oscars have been taken ovr by liberals??? OMG! Call the FBI!!
In a related story, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
I'm perfectly calm, and I'm no hobbit.
IMHO, the ROTK Oscar sweep was a tribute to all three films, but ROTK was the best of the three. For me, it was a 30-year investment, having first read the books in high school.
You may retain your opinion. We, however, will retain the eleven Oscars. ;-)
"You may retain your opinion. We, however, will retain the eleven Oscars. ;-)"
Well, since we're retaining the 11 Oscars, I'll tell the Five Armies I was about to deploy to stand down :-)
cough cough
I don't understand why people keep comparing the Unfit To Command and Michael Moore's bullsh**, as if they are in the same considerations? The Moore piece is lies, and the other is truth. And yet the media is treating them as equally egregious to the pres candidates. So typical. Telling a truth about a democrat is as nasty as telling a lie about a republican. This wreaks of Clinton tactics.
Ugh reeks. Too early.
ROTK was the best of the three?
nah, TTT. ;)
Well the biggest difference is Michael Moores movie is the opinion of one man, Michael Moore himself. While Unfit to comand is the opinion of a lot of vets who served with the putz Kerry. It just goes to show the utter bias of the left. A bloated POS gets worldwide attention, awards, Oscar considerations, for his own BS opinion, while a mere book gets absolutely ostracized. The book was/is number one on the best-seller list. Where are the awards? Where are the talk shows? This reminds me of when Clinton was first running for Prez in 1992...People who worked with the guy, people who knew him went on TV warning the American public not to vote for the guy because he was a slimy self serving POS. And guess what?? They were 1000% right. Too bad the majority of the country didn`t listen to them.
