Daily Prayer Thread - 7 Sep 2004

Ephesians 3 (KJV)
12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

(MSG)
12 When we trust in him, we're free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go.
13 So don't let my present trouble on your behalf get you down. Be proud!
14 My response is to get down on my knees before the Father,
15 this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth.
16 I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit--not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength--
17 that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love,
18 you'll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!
19 Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.
20 God can do anything, you know--far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
21 Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the generations! Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!

Friday's thread

Prayers for all, especially for those devasted by hurricane Frances, and those in need. May the hand of God guide our paths, and the Spirit of the Lord be upon you. May God bless our leaders, our troops, our familes, and our country. May our Lord and Saviour use you to spread His Holy Word, and to bring Him honour and glory.

Please pray for a FRiend who is experiencing difficulties on several fronts - medical problems with child, and a spouse that needs to feel the presence of God, and to have God direct their spouse's footsteps. Please pray that this family will be reunited.

Father, You are sorrowful with any discord between people, but even more so between spouses. Father, I ask that You take direct action for this couple and reunify them. Provide amply for this sick child, including the renewal of genuine deep love between his or her parents. Direct the footsteps of all these precious souls, and bring Your plans into focus for them. In Jesus' precious name...Amen!

I wanted to give everyone an update.

They had planned on moving my best friend's wife to University of Washington Medical Center, but that will not be happening.

Yesterday she was placed back on life support, and the EEG and CAT scan have confirmed that there is no hope. They have also confirmed they will not be able to save their unborn baby.

The family is gathering right now to say goodbye. Thanks everyone for their prayers, and now pray for the family.

my heart breaks for you and her family - I pray that God's angels take you all in their wings and bring you all the comfort that you need, when you need it most.
