As for me, I could never understand how one could be a *serious* student at the very center of the NYC party scene, Greenwich Village. I did it in the mid-70's. It was tough to make it to class the next day on many occasions.

NEW YORK (AP) - In a Sept. 6 story about a fatal fall at New York University, The Associated Press used the police department's incorrect spelling of the student who jumped to her death. Her name was Joann Michelle Leavy, not Joann Mitchell Levy.

I agree with you that NYU needs to take this "epidemic" of window jumping by students more seriously.
I agree with those who say that the stress may lead to some students to suicide. But how many other ways are there to kill yourself? Why would a person choose the window jumping method? What ever happened to good ole fashioned wrist slitting? No, but seriously....
