Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I don't know...the teacher taught him how to do it. Then, after the tape was turned completely off...he sat down and did it.
You coulda knocked me over with a feather.
It was the last thing he had to do for the day and I praised him for giving his best effort to the last thing he had to do.
What's so funny is I told him 2 years ago that I would not teach him cursive writing. That I thought it was archaic and although artistic, not nessessary. He already knew one way of writing and that was fine until he learned to type.
But he wanted to learn and he taught himself.
Sure, I helped him when he had a question...but he mostly taught himself.
2JM - that is an excellent "A". Calligraphy. I have co worker that has transfered offices around the country, his wife does calligraphy for Hallmark cards and others. Work from home, wherever there is mail service. Reasonably good money as well.
Now that's determination! Pretty neat :) Maybe he should learn to write Elvish next!
I've actually been trying to re-teach myself handwriting. I used to have really nice handwriting but it got sloppier when I started taking notes in narrow-margin notebooks. A few years ago I noticed how sloppy it was getting and decided to get it back in shape. I'm also trying to teach my left hand to write--kind of a right brain/left brain experiment I'm trying.
300WM, do you think the engraver's could add a name?
A name could be added easily. The question is, could it ever actually get to him?
Sounds like a semi-formal presentation that could and should be made by a small group of HHDs on behalf of the rest of us, after having successfully negotiated with his appointments secretary, close to his next birthday after January 21, 2009.
Hey howdy there evellybody! [sip]
Whew... finally back in da waterin' hole after all last week in the bay area. Yikes... whatta week. [siiiip]
"Firewater", maybe...
I lost a "b" somewhare...oh, here it is.
There's water in there someplace... :-)
I guess there's 2 Hs and an O in there :)
Yah... and don't forget the 50.5% solution. :-)
Given enough time, we can also have the presidential seal laser engraved on the back of the blade.
Do we seriesly want to pursue this?
EGE: that sounds like it has a lot better chance for success. Good thinking.
300 winmag, Well I'm for giving it a try. It is just on edge of reality, someplace I often find myself anyway. So, why not?
Gandhi awaits. Last time I saw that, I was still drinkin'. And livin' in a frat house. Loooooong time ago.
How long?
Well, for one thing, everybody was wondering whether Sammy Hagar would completely "F" up Van Halen. Or whether Van Halen would "F" up Sammy Hagar...
And to this day, the answers depend on who you're talkin' to...
Both Hagar and Van Halen were better before Van Hagar. :-)
Evenin' gentlemen!
On a note of ultimate irony....
After being brushed by Frances, we here in Miami figured we were in the clear as far as flooding went. Wrong-o!
It poured here all day and there is no less than 6 inches to a foot of standing water in my neighborhood. I saw at least 30 cars stranded as a made my way home and I barely made it into my driveway.
My cul-de-sac was so waterlogged - the curb was almost 3 inches underwater in the center of the circle. I literally drifted into my driveway and I can only hope my little Rav-4 was able to handle that drive!
Hi Rutheee! Glad to see you made it... soaked or otherwise. :-)
Maybe time to consider a Hummer. Think of it... it's just *so* YOU! :-) And... if you get the optional snorkel attachment, you can drive in water up to the middle of windshield. Wouldn't that be fun??
