Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Hope you get it.
Good morning, everyone.
'Mornin'. Am going to finish tidying up the house and then head out for a Walmart mission before venturing down to the airport.
Yep, me too. Hobbits don't like wandering around.

OT: good morning, yup it's Friday. Good luck on the house.
Wayside Waifs is having "Strut your mutt" in Brookside tomorrow. We're thinking of taking Gypsy girl there and showing her off to her former guardians. Unlike Samantha, Gypsy likes to travel and "plays well with others". She'll do fine.

"New Tires" ouch - won't be pleasant a-tall.
Good luck with the 'utes. Love the sound of a chainsaw and falling timber in the morning.
Heading out, coffee in hand.
Good morning!
Boy, am I glad it's Friday! And a beautiful day it is, too!
Wonder what the polls will say today.
>>I'm putting in a bid for that house today.
Gotta pic?
Good morning all!
Rainin' here...we needed it too.
I wonder if Steve got called out to pull samples? I doubt it, cause the cup of coffee he leaves for me on my bedside table is still hot.
Hi!
Oooh...just noticed I'm seeing posts in groups of 100 instead of 50. Yay! I hate only having 50 to a page...
Main Entry: verb
Pronunciation: 'v&rb
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English verbe, from Middle French, from Latin verbum word, verb --
: a word that characteristically is the grammatical center of a predicate and expresses an act, occurrence, or mode of being, that in various languages is inflected for agreement with the subject, for tense, for voice, for mood, or for aspect, and that typically has rather full descriptive meaning and characterizing quality but is sometimes nearly devoid of these especially when used as an auxiliary or linking verb
I asked him "Why did you say 'State of being'?" and he said "I learned that in second grade."
I always have mine at fifty...dialup takes too long to load 100...
Good morning! The insulated cup idea was a good one! My coffee is always piping hot when I get up...I sit on the side of the bed and sip for just a few minutes.
In the past few weeks I have begun flyladying again and the house is look sharp...I accredit it to that cup of coffee on the bedside stand.
I've done some flyladying over the past week...but I really need to get down to it seriously and just pitch stuff right and left until the house is truly organized and spotless. I really would love to have it to the point where I could have anyone over and not be mortified if they, say, took a peek in the basement or office. I've never gotten completely to that point.
I've been there...I know what you mean.
The thing about myself is this...when something gets out of hand, I give up. I just think "It's hopeless" and endure things the way they are. Then, something else about myself kicks in and I go kinda rabid. I get angry, then determined, then I accomplish, then I'm content and able to stay on top for a long time.
The other night Steve and I were talking about it. I told him "It seems I go through spells in my life where I feel like I can't do ANYTHING so I don't"! He said, "Look...each time you strike out to spiff up the house, it gets easier and stays spiffed longer! Just don't worry about the times when you feel like that...you eventually work through them!"
I thought that was a pretty insightful thing to say and I appreciated someone actually acknowledging what I suspected and not just saying "You're lazy...you're awful, you don't deserve anyone to care about you." Which has been said and implied for the greater part of my life.
