I certainly hope so, but the weather gurus are saying that there is high pressure to the north and south of Jeanne, so she can't move anywhere but west and slightly northwest.
*sigh*
Happy Anniversary to you both! May you have many more years of happiness together! :)
Hey Rutheee!!! Y'all really need to turn down the volume on the hurricane collector machine.
I can't believe we actually saw Jeanne swing in a full circle (or was that a brodie?) out in the ocean. Unfreaking real.
Looks like what... palm beach? not sure of my florida geography.
Just dang.
Hey there!
Palm Beach is where they're predicting landfall. Them poor folks already had Frances and now Jeanne. :-(
AMEN!!!! Not having trusted him enough, you are SO right! Actually, the props should go to hubby....he gave me a good 'talking to,' something I needed. He's a GOOD friend!
Way to get rid of the extra baggage Alkhin!
I never quite understand the blogging thing... but I guess it is like the community here! I hope you don't miss it - you are always welcome here
I hve a feeling y'all will be seeing more of me! LOL I jumped on blogging because it was something that appeared to do what I had wanted to do when I first joined up with Free Republic back in 1998 (my name says I joined in 2000, but I was under the nick "YrWorship" from '98 to 2000.) Then, I had been so inspired by what was going on I thought a good way to get involved with things locally was to run a Drudge-like site for the area I live in...but not being a journalist and not having a strong understanding of running a website, plus not having any idea there were such things as online journals, that idea soon petered out. It was after 9-11 that I heard about blogs and got interested in them...but the fact remains, I STILL am not a journalist, I am usually five days behind the times, and I dont say anything different than what a majority of bloggers say. I disagree with a lot of them on some points (gay marriage being the largest dispute...so many bloggers say they are conservative in their principles, then they completely miss the point about marriage), but am pretty much on par with them. I think my interest in running a web site has run its course. Ive learned a lot of things, but I think I want to get back to writing stories...which is another major reason for making the break. I hve to choose either/or...I find I cannot do both.
My server's been down so I'm late replying to this. Anyway, I used to have that problem when I was active on a martial arts mailing list (where disagreements tend to escalate into duels) and I wanted to get away from that, so when I signed up for FR I resolved to limit my discussions to threads that wouldn't make me angry like that. It usually works--usually, LOL! In any case, I hope you'll find a way to resolve your blog addiction in a way that allows you to keep in touch and continue with your writing.
Thanks Fedora! I think that is how I have come to see FR and the HH...I just want to be with like-minded people without having to walk on political eggshells all the time, and share some SAFE ground. I loved going to Khazad-dum, but even there things were getting pretty silly with all the seriously depraved actor-worship going on. I enjoy a talented actor like everyone else, but Im not going to pour blind adoration upon them. I know actors : I pretend to be one every now and again!! LOL Anyway, I have EVERY intention of staying on board here at the HH...if you all will have me! ;> As I said, another major reason I have decided to go cold-turkey is because I seriously want to accomplish something with the graphic story, especially now that I have figured out some major kinks...
SmoochMooters????? :D
BTW, that would be a cool character to have in your book. It would add a new, mystical dimension.
msdrby - per your comments about tzadikim nistarim - thank you!! That's a relief to me because the thing that is popping out in this story is some distinct religious themes...not that I have an intention to make it a religious story per se, but there are some elements that are being drawn from religion. You have FReepmail, btw!! :D
(((((HOBBIT HOLE DWELLERS!!!)))))
Thank you all very much. I talked to OB earlier and he is having a good time, interesting subject matter and he was going to some shelter house for a Bar-b-que. (I had a ham & cheese sandwich on rye).
Rosie's thought for the evening: GOSH was John Denver ever a great songwriter! Admittedly, some arrangements of his songs are decidedly hokey...but the man could write some of the best lyrics ever composed. I have some dug out tonight...Poems, Prayers and Promises always makes me weepy. *snif*
I volunteered at the local Bush phone bank Tuesday; we were checking to make sure people were registered to vote, and, if not, sending a non-threatening, young married couple (kind of like you and ecurbh) over to get them registered. I only got 2 people who said they were going to vote for Kerry, and many of people I talked to were fired up Bush voters.
I like John Denver's music for the most part.
I listened to a lot of Ronnie Milsap back in the day too. :-)
I'm not proud to admit that, many moons ago... I was a big John Denver fan. I don't know why.
But then again... I also used to dance to the BeeGees.
:-P
Ack.
*furiously taking notes for karaoke night*
[beep] Pencils down.
Just say 'no' to Karaoke. :-)
Nothing good ever comes of it.
Hey, it isn't ~my~ idea. *grin*
trini insists it ~must~ be done the next time you visit. ;-)
actually, cut my teeth on learning to play the guitar on "Sunshine on My Shoulders"...makes me shudder every time I hear it now.
Hmmm... [re-checking annual travel schedule...]
heheheh... sorta like 'Smoke on the water'.... :-)
*grinning*
What? You mean you don't enjoy having your glasses fog up every time you walk out of a building or car?
Reviewing my young life makes me wish there were such a thing as reincarnation...
Sure did, that was incredible.
