They had roast beast at the cafeteria today. At least, at my job's cafeteria the menu is printed out a week in advance so you can brace yourself for the week ahead.
9 times out of 10 though, it's actually GOOD!
He made a ham in Coca Cola once that had me asking for the recipe. *grin*
Evenin' folkses!
It's a wonder we didn't get ourselves wedged in the doorway walking in like this. *Laughing*
*trying to picture that*
But since I'm a Hobbit I'd just trip, right?
Right, but since we hobbits are quick on our big hairy feet you might avoid that too.
Evenin... :-)
I've had spaghetti squash before, it's pretty good. I found some whole wheat pasta that's pretty good. I've had regular tomato sauce and meatballs with that.
But maybe it'd be a good day trip for those of us who aren't busy with the hands-on preparation!
I've been eating spaghetti squash every other week or so. Really like it. It is NOT a direct substitute for pasta, which I think is why I didn't like it as a kid. I expected it to either taste like pasta or like what I thought of as squash, i.e. winter squash. It didn't.
But I like it!
Heh...see, that's the main downside I see with cafeteria food. It CAN be very good, and you don't have to cook or clean up afterwards...but sometimes, who knows WHAT is goin' into the food?! And what kinda hands are preparing it?
At least at home it's my own germs...
Help! I'm funkling and I can't get up!
Oh well...
Either way... I'm sure that weddings at the lodge are not uncommon (though the trip down the mountain after the reception would be all manner of mass carnage... it's a treacherous road).
Maybe he was talking about a wedding there... it would be a beautiful time of year to to a wedding at Paradise. Relatively warm, even though it's halfway up a 15,000 ft mountain. :-)
This here Hobbit lass is clumsy enough to trip standing still. :-)
mmmmmmmmm.... germs...
The wedding isn't until April, though...that'd be a bad time of year, no?
I'm looking forward to seeing the Cascades, though, even if it's just from a distance! I don't remember much about views from when we lived near there when I was little...all I remember is the ocean and the ash we got from Mt. St. Helens.
I know what you mean, but I figure if I'm brave enough to eat at McDonalds from time to time, why not trust the cafeteria guy?
At least I know who he is, if something turns out to be ~yuck~.
Once, he served these corn tamales and they were just terrible. No one wanted to say anything, but I walked right back to the cafeteria, set the tamale in front of him and said "taste that please".
He took a small bite and made a face. He never ordered those tamales again and the next time he served them, he called me up to ask me to come try one to be sure they were good. And they were! :-)
evenin' sir... need tuh fill muh glass...
Can you imagine 2J in a car going down this road? Thank heaven we only had to deal with the Narrows at WeddingMoot! LOL!
