I am a fan of space opera. May have to find Doc Smith at the library.
Space opera's probably the genre I'll write if I ever get into it, but I like good hard SF best of all the subgenres.
Trying to think...I'm prolly most familiar with Puccini stuff.
"La Donna e Mobile", from Rigoletto by Verdi
"E lucevan le stelle" from Tosca by Puccini
"Che gelida manina" from La Boheme by Puccini
"Recondita armonia" from Tosca
"Questa o quella" from Rigoletto by Verdi
Bunches and bunches there are, though.
I'm prolly not spelling right...
Cannas in Bloom - EXCELLENT, way to go. Thanks for posting the pics. Nice looking herd of birds as well.
That's a fine-looking bunch of fowl you got there! Love the proud one in the back!
I'm off. Steve will be home soon and I have some work I need to get done for tomorrows school lessons.
See you all in the morning!
Do you have to read a bunch of books in order?
After a few rounds.
Is there any more? That was yummy!
Yah. Hate it when that happens. Seems to be happening more and more frequently of late for me. Ah, well... the saving grace of dementia is that it doesn't afflict the afflicted, so much as it afflicts those around them.
Of all the things I've lost... I miss my mind the most.
In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't proceed with other plans which included a very modest amount of fertilizer and a sample of my HMMWV go-juice...
Durn Andromeda Strain will do it every time.
Now THAT is simply too cute for words.
Heh...msdrby is very wise to have Bitty Girl eat shirt-less... ;-)
She's growing up already! *snif*
Yer becoming quite the farmer there. Gonna give up mining, battles ,and glory?
I REALLY gots ta get to bed. See everyone in the morning!
PE, bitty is vey pritty too :)
More or less. Once you've figured out the series, it doesn't matter so much - you should read "The Warrior's Apprentice" first, and then "The Vor Game", but you can then skip the intermediate books and go to "Brothers in Arms", then "Mirror Dance". Then "Memory" makes sense.
You have to read "Komarr" before "A Civil Campaign". All the other books you can pretty much read anywhere in there.
If you don't want to commit to something like that, find "Cordelia's Honor", which has an unusual romance, an excellent heroine, some really memorable lines, and is a good start to the series since it's about the hero's mother, father, and their planets. I like Cordelia a lot better than her son, honestly...
Growing up, and getting HEAVY. She was 15 pounds two weeks ago. Quite the bundle to carry about.
muchas gracias
Niters... :-)
she's a cutie...
